General Information

Skyros is an island with spectacular morphology. Surrounded by the blue Aegean Sea and the shores of beautiful beaches that stretch is perfect for shade and relaxation. Skyros has been inhabited since the Neolithic period (5500 - 2800 BC) as evidenced by the relics have been found in various parts of the island. Flourished during the Early Bronze Age (2800 - 1900 BC) and reached the zenith of its glory during the Mycenaean period (1650 - 1100 BC) an important presence in Skyros and geometry in ancient times.


In 475 BC captured by the Athenians and 323-322 BC passes into the hands of the Macedonians. In 197 BC conquered by the Romans to their successors the Byzantines when Skyros were placed in the Aegean Sea.


Skyros is an island with great history and many attractions.
