Skiathos Beaches

Skiathos Beaches:
Bourtzi: Small rocky beach under the ruins of the castle in the small peninsula of Skiathos port.



Megali Ammos: Megali Ammos is located just outside the town, only 2 klm. away, heading to the road that leads to Koukounaries.



Ftelia: Long, sandy and organized beach, 4 km. from the center of Skiathos than essentially extends the beaches Megali Ammos and Vasilias.



Achladia: Achladia beach is only 2 km. away from the center of Skiathos. Fully organized and sandy beach that is attracts many visitors.



Vasilias:
The beautiful, sandy beach Vasilias is about 5 km. southwest of the center of Skiathos, next to Megali Ammos.



Tzaneria: Quiet and very clear beach in a small distance from the center of Skiathos. The sand and the trees that reach the sea are the characteristics of the beach.



Kalamaki - Kanapitsa: Kalamaki - Kanapitsa beach is about 7 km. away from the center of Skiathos, near the Kalamaki Cape just after the Tzaneria beach.



Agia Paraskevi: Clear waters and fine sand. Agia Paraskevi beach is named after the church that stands there.



Poros: Shortly before Troulos while heading to Koukounaries and about 9 km. from the center of Skiathos there is the organized beach Poros.



Troulos: This beach is named after the the little island that is there and looks like a dome. Gold sand and very high trees that offer thick shadow characterize the beach.



Koukounaries: The most famous beach of Skiathos and one of the most internationally known beaches of our country. It is also named Chrisi Ammos ("Golden Sand") because the sand is very fine and shines under the summer sun. Chrisi Ammos has been declared many times among the best beaches in the Mediterranean.



Megali Banana: The oldest name of the bay was "Krassa Bay" but in the 70s that was one of the first nudist beaches in Aegean Sea took its current name. Megali Banana is considered one of the most popular beaches of Skiathos.



Madraki: In this area we meet three beautiful bays: Xerxis' port, Elia bay and Agkistro. Here the landscape changes while heading north and becomes wilder and more impressive. These three bays are beautiful. In order to meet these beaches you must walk through a pinewood with sandy territory. There are very quiet beaches and heave clear waters.



Megalos Aselinos: Megalos Aselinos is located in the north. While the beach is sandy it dosn't look like the quiet beaches of southern Skiathos.The sand is thick, has many pebbles, the water is deep and in general the landscape is beautiful.



Mikros Aselinos: A small and isolated beach, 10 minutes away from Megalos Aselinos by foot. Beautiful and a better choice for those who prefer quietness.



Lalaria: From the most photographed beaches in Skiathos. It is located on the northeastern side of the island and is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. In Lalaria the the north wind falls with fury on the steep white cliffs whice rise majestic above the sea and create millions of years now, perfectly round and white pebbles, the "lalaria", that cover the whole beach.On the one side of the beach there is a well shaped rock name "Tripia Petra" and stands there as a sleepless guard.The excellent and wild beauty of the landscape combined with the wonderful clear sea will enchant the visitors.



Tsougkrias: In the open sea from the port of Skiathos, 2 miles in the south there is the uninhabited island of Tsougkrias. It is a beautiful island, full of green elements and popural for its great sandy beaches and the clear waters.
