Paxoi Beaches:
Lakka: Lakka is the second largest resort and is in the north of the Island. It has a stunning horse shoe shaped bay and is a popular harbour for those who visit Paxos by boat. The bay is sheltered and is excellent for swimming and safe for children. Near to Lakka are some amazing sea caves, well worth a look.
Gaios: Gaios is the Capital of the Island. It is a very picturesque harbour town with cafes and tavernas and a Venetian Town Square. The best beach nearest here is Mogonisi, and is the best sand beach on Paxos. Mogonisi is actually an islet connected to Paxos by stepping stones. There are many coves for you to discover and explore. The scenery around here is very flat and although the sea is excellent for swimming, and the coves interesting to investigate, it is only possible to sunbathe if you donΆt mind sunbathing on rocks.
Loggos: Loggos is a very small picturesque harbour town. It is used by the locals for fishing and has an excellent fish taverna. Levrehio beach is near Loggos and is excellent for snorkelling.
Antipaxoi: The island Antipaxos is also very easily accessible from Paxos. Boats run from Giaos to Antipaxos, the trip takes about 25 minutes and will cost approximately 6 Euros return. On many of the boats kids go free. Antipaxos boasts some of the best beaches in Greece. The two best known beaches on this little Island are Vrikas and Voutomi. Both are superb sandy beaches with wonderful warm clear water that offer fantastic snorkelling opportunities.
