Karpathos Beaches:
The beaches of Pigadia: The successive beaches of Ammos, Afoti, and Vronti, within the bay of Pigadia are three excellent beaches, very close to the town of Pigadia, the capital of the island, well organized, with nice sand, very clean sea and sea sport facilities.
Amoopi Beach: The well organized beach of Megali (“big”) Amoopi, or Votsalakia (“fine pebbles”), as it is better known due to the fine pebbles, is the by far the most popular beach of the island, for all ages of visitors.
Pera Ammos Beach: The long sandy beach of Pera Ammos is separated from Votsalakia by a small peninsula with a small church on it. It is situated 6 kilometers far from Pigadia at the South; it has very clean sea and attracts numerous swimmers.
Kastelia Beach: The lovely beach of Kastelia (meaning “castles”) is situated after the beach of Amoopi. It is a paradise hidden among the rocks. You will reach the beach via a dirt track before arriving to Amoopi.
Damatria Beach: The sandy beach of Damatria is situated at a distance of 13 kilometers southern to Pigadia. The fine yellow sand, the clean sea and the calmness make it ideal for families. From the beach you may see the islet of Mira across.
Τou Niκolaki i Pοunta: The favorite beaches of the windsurfers are situated at the southern end of the village, at a distance of some 13-15 kilometers southern to Pigadia. The two successive beaches of Valia and “tou Nicolaki i Punta”, 15 kilometers southern to Pigadia, also attract numerous surfers.
Makris Gialos: The favorite beaches of the windsurfers are situated at the southern end of the village, at a distance of some 13-15 kilometers southern to Pigadia. The huge beach of Makris Gialos with nice sand and shallow sea is popular for the sport.
Diakoftis Beach: The beautiful beach of Diakoftis is situated at the southwestern coast of the island, some 21 kilometers far from Pigadia. It is a sandy beach with nice white sand and crystal clear sea, situated within a wonderful landscape.
Achata Beach: The sandy beach of Achata is a lovely and quiet beach with nice sand and pebbles and a wonderful sea with fascinating colors. It is situated some 13 kilometers northern to Pigadia.
Kyra Panagia Beach: The sandy beach of Kyra Panaghia is one of the most famous, wonderful, clean and well organized beaches of Karpathos. It is situated at a distance of some 15 kilometers northern to Pigadia within a breathtaking landscape.
Lefkos beaches: At a distance of 31 kilometers northwestern to Pigadia, within the bay of Lefkos, there are three successive beaches. The first, called Gialou Chorafi (“the field on the beach”) is the best organized of them. The second is the small quite sandy beach of Panagias Limani (“the port of Holy Mother”) and the last is the impressive beach of Francolimnionas, a well organized beach opposite to the small islet of Sokastro.
